Business Development Executive: Outbound Sales (AI / SaaS)
Location: Shrewsbury, Shropshire (office-based, Mon-Fri)

OTE: £50,000 - £60,000 realistically achievable
Type: Permanent, full time
The opportunity
A fast-growing, British-owned AI technology company is looking for an outbound Business Development Executive to sit at the front of its commercial team. Its product is a 3D digital human that holds natural conversations with customers 24/7 across web, phone, and face to face. It is already live in retail, education, charities, hospitality, and automotive, and demand is growing quickly.
This is a phone-first role. You will not be starting from scratch: a researched target account database is already in place, with organisations prioritised and decision makers identified. Your job is to turn that into conversations and meetings. The team is small and being built deliberately, so you will work directly with the Chief Revenue Officer and have a real say in how the business approaches its markets.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
