Description
Looking for a sales role with real earning potential and long-term career growth? Join LOCALiQ, part of Newsquest Media Group, as a Business Development Executive and help local businesses grow through powerful digital and advertising solutions.
With a salary of up to £35,000, uncapped commission (OTE 45K in Y1) and genuine progression opportunities, this is a role where your hard work and success are recognised and rewarded.
Working across your territory, you'll meet business owners and decision-makers face-to-face, building relationships and introducing a range of market-leading digital and print advertising solutions. From generating opportunities through to closing deals, you'll manage the full sales cycle and play a key role in helping businesses achieve their goals.
We're looking for a driven and ambitious sales professional who enjoys meeting new people, building relationships and creating new business opportunities. You'll bring energy, resilience and a proactive approach, along with previous B2B sales experience and a desire to succeed.
To succeed in this role, you'll need to be based within or near the territory, hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle for work-related travel.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and win new business by proactively reaching out to potential clients across your region using cold calling and outbound sales techniques.
- Work to clear financial targets and KPIs, consistently striving to exceed monthly revenue goals and performance benchmarks.
- Manage and grow existing client accounts, providing ongoing support, identifying upsell opportunities, and increasing client spend through strategic recommendations.
- Develop and manage a robust sales pipeline, using a consultative approach to move prospects through the sales cycle.
- Build long-term relationships with clients by providing expert advice, excellent service, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and campaign delivery for new clients.
- Stay informed on industry trends, competitor activity, and LOCALiQ’s evolving product suite to maintain a competitive edge.
- Represent LOCALiQ with professionalism and credibility, acting as a trusted ambassador for our regional news brands.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- A passion for sales and new business development.
- Confident speaking with business owners and decision-makers.
- Driven by targets, results and career progression.
- Resilient, determined and able to bounce back from setbacks.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with plenty of energy and enthusiasm.
- Coachable, eager to learn and open to feedback.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Previous sales or customer-facing experience would be advantageous.
- Own vehicle suitable for business use.
- Full UK driving licence.
