About the Opportunity:

We are currently recruiting for a Business Development Executive to join a growing and highly regarded organisation within the learning and development sector.

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded and proactive sales professional to play a key role in driving new business growth. Working within a supportive and collaborative commercial team, you will be responsible for identifying, developing and converting new business opportunities.

This role would suit a driven individual who enjoys generating new opportunities, engaging with decision-makers, and managing the sales process from initial contact through to successful close.

In particular, you will:

  • Generate new business opportunities through cold calling, networking, events, LinkedIn and proactive outreach activities.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to closing new business opportunities.
  • Conduct exploratory sales meetings and identify client needs.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, proposals and solution demonstrations.
  • Develop strong relationships with prospective and existing clients.
  • Coordinate the delivery of solutions and programmes for new clients.
  • Maintain accurate sales data and nurture opportunities for future development.
  • Attend networking events and industry conferences to generate new contacts and opportunities.
  • Provide regular market and client feedback to support business growth strategies.

Who we are looking for:

  • Previous experience within a B2B business development, sales or commercial role.
  • Strong commercial awareness and a passion for developing new business opportunities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Confident presenting solutions and engaging with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of learning and development, organisational psychology or psychometric solutions would be advantageous but is not essential.
  • Self-motivated, positive and driven, with a genuine desire to succeed.

In return we are offering:

  • Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum plus commission.
  • Holiday: 33 days (including bank holidays).
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am – 5:30 pm
