About the Role

Driver Hire Bridgwater & Taunton is looking for a confident, people-focused Business Development Executive to support the continued growth of our Bridgwater site and help expand our client base across Bridgwater, Taunton and the wider Somerset region.

The role will be based from our main Bridgwater office, so applicants must live within a commutable distance of Bridgwater. A key part of the role will involve visiting local businesses face-to-face, building relationships with decision-makers and introducing Driver Hire as a trusted recruitment partner.

This is a role for someone who enjoys getting out, meeting local businesses, asking the right questions and winning new clients through a professional, consultative approach.

This is not a basic sales role or a purely desk-based position. We are looking for someone who enjoys meeting people, understanding what businesses need, creating their own opportunities and building long-term commercial relationships.

Your Role Will Include

  • Supporting the continued growth and development of Driver Hire Bridgwater & Taunton
  • Winning new clients across Bridgwater, Taunton and the wider Somerset region
  • Creating and managing your own pipeline of potential clients
  • Generating new business opportunities through face-to-face meetings, local canvassing, telephone calls, email follow-ups and social media activity
  • Visiting businesses face-to-face to introduce Driver Hire and understand their staffing requirements
  • Building relationships with business owners, transport managers and key decision-makers
  • Identifying, qualifying and developing new leads
  • Managing your pipeline through regular meetings, follow-ups and ongoing communication
  • Understanding client requirements and identifying where Driver Hire can provide recruitment support
  • Introducing Driver Hire’s services to local employers in a professional and consultative way
  • Following up with prospects and maintaining regular contact
  • Working closely with the recruitment team to turn opportunities into successful placements
  • Maintaining accurate records of client conversations, leads, follow-ups and opportunities
  • Helping grow an ambitious, locally owned recruitment business

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
