We are looking for a Business Development Executive

This is a home based role with occasional travel to offices required.

If successful, you will play a vital role in developing new business sales for the Group. You will research, identify and progress new business opportunities for the Business Development Managers using outbound telephone activity. You will assist the Sales and Marketing team with outbound campaign follow up, event and exhibition attendance and CRM processing.

The responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Researching target organisations and identify key decision-makers and influencers
  • Conducting outbound calls to prospective customers to identify new business opportunities
  • Qualifying prospects against agreed criteria and identify opportunities aligned to Inspired's products and services
  • Building and maintain strong relationships with prospective customers
  • Developing and progress leads through the sales pipeline
  • Generating qualified appointments, leads, and opportunities for the sales team
  • Achieving agreed activity KPIs including outbound calls, conversations, appointments, opportunities generated, and pipeline contribution
  • Working closely with Marketing to follow up on marketing-generated leads and campaign responses
  • Supporting the sales team with strategic partner relations
  • Supporting the organisations presence at conferences and events, including events hosted by the company to support lead generation and networking opportunities
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date prospect, lead, and activity records within the CRM system
  • Read and comply with the company Health & Safety Policy; taking reasonable care for the Health & Safety of themselves and others; co-operate with managers and other employees in fulfilling our objectives and statutory duties.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

Essential:

  • Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in telesales, business development, lead generation, or customer-facing sales
  • Experience working to activity, pipeline and opportunity-generation targets
  • Proven experience in B2B telesales, lead generation, business development or appointment setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Confidence engaging with prospective customers over the telephone
  • Ability to identify prospective customer needs and sales opportunities
  • Results-driven with a focus on achieving targets
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate customer records
  • Strong listening, questioning, and objection-handling skills
  • Good commercial awareness and customer focus
  • GCSEs.

Desirable:

  • Previous knowledge/experience working within energy, utilities or sustainability sectors
  • Experience following up sales and marketing campaigns
  • Experience using LinkedIn Sales Navigator, CRM prospecting tools, or sales intelligence platforms
  • A-Levels
