Job Description

Business Development Executive specialising in the education sector at Reed

This is a full time, permanent position working for Reed, specialising in the Education sector. This is a national role, and therefore can be based to a nearby Reed London office.

We are seeking a proactive Business Development Executive to engage both passive and active client stakeholders, developing relationships to identify and secure new business opportunities for Reed. This role involves working closely with HR Directors, Senior Managers, and other decision makers, positioning the BDE as a trusted specialist in resourcing solutions.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Collaborate across the organisation to gain in-depth market knowledge and deliver compelling offerings within a defined vertical market sector.
  • Work alongside the Bid Team to research markets and clients thoroughly.
  • Proactively target potential clients, including competitor clients in Managed Service/RPO/BPO, maximising the conversion of opportunities.
  • Deliver business opportunities across various specialisms within the organisation.
  • Secure large-scale and complex Managed Services and RPO opportunities.
  • Develop innovative solutions with internal stakeholders that deliver results to clients and maximise the full set of products and services within the Group portfolio.
  • Maintain accurate reporting and sales pipeline information, preparing the business for potential new wins.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in 360 recruitment and business development in the education sector is highly advantageous.
  • Strong network and research skills, with the ability to stay at the forefront of industry developments.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the capacity to become a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, including Bid Teams and Senior Management, in-person and remotely.
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to set and follow through on long-term business strategies.

Experience Required:

  • A proven and demonstrable track record in securing multi-million pound Managed Service contracts.
  • Evidence of networking and relationship building with Senior and Board Level decision makers.
  • Evidence of business development

Knowledge:

  • A strategic thinker able to attain a trusted advisor status with senior client contacts at board level.
  • An excellent and persuasive communicator at all levels.
  • Able to see beyond the 'top line' of a contract and understand the complex drivers that ensure profitability.
  • Capability to develop a strong 'network' within the Education industry.
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Proactive and driven, with a commitment to achieving targets.
