The Company

We are MyDek Ltd, on a mission to make high-rise living safer through our fully certified, non-combustible decking and cladding systems.

We work directly with designers, contractors and site teams to deliver the whole solution, from substructure and fixings through to installation support. This practical, solution-led approach is what sets us apart and gives our business development team a strong story to take to customers.

We are now looking for a Business Development Executive to join us on a full-time, permanent basis. Working hours are 07:30–16:30, Monday to Friday, based at our Stokenchurch office, with customer and site visits as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

The Role

You'll spend a substantial part of your day on the phone, proactively contacting potential customers and following up on construction projects. You'll need to enjoy starting conversations, be persistent when people are difficult to reach and keep opportunities moving through regular, well-judged follow-up.

Alongside calling, you'll research projects, identify the right contacts and understand their requirements and timescales. You'll speak with architects, developers, main contractors, façade contractors, buyers and installers, securing relevant meetings and qualified enquiries for the wider MyDek team.

This is a practical business development role where preparation and persistence count. Each conversation should help you learn something useful, build a relationship or agree a clear next step.

Working alongside our external business development team and directors, you will keep the CRM accurate and up to date, and co-ordinate with technical, estimating, operations and leadership colleagues to keep opportunities progressing.

Additionally, you will:

  • Prepare the context, purpose and questions for meetings
  • Answer straightforward customer queries and involve technical colleagues when a question needs a specialist
  • Manage inbox and email communications
  • Provide clear briefs to internal teams and follow up on agreed actions
  • Read and interpret construction drawings to understand project requirements and assist the estimating team when required
  • Build your knowledge of our products and relevant construction and specification stages

About You

To be considered as a Business Development Executive, you will need:

  • Confidence and willingness to make a high volume of proactive outbound calls
  • Persistence through unanswered calls, setbacks and long sales cycles
  • Curiosity and listening skills to ask useful questions and understand project needs
  • A consultative approach, with the ability to secure relevant meetings and influence customers to take the next step
  • Good research, organisation and follow-through, including accurate CRM records
  • Commercial awareness: understanding a project's scope, budget, timing, decision-makers and the next step towards an enquiry or order
  • Willingness to learn MyDek's products, answer straightforward questions and bring in the right specialist when needed
  • The ability to read and interpret construction drawings, with a willingness to support estimating when needed
  • The right to work in the UK
