Lincoln | Office-based | Full-time | £28,000-£37,000 + performance-related bonus

Love the challenge of opening doors and creating new business?

We're looking for a Business Development Executive who is confident, curious and commercially minded, someone who enjoys finding the right people, starting conversations and turning potential into genuine opportunities.

This is a role for someone who wants to do more than make endless cold calls.

You'll have the opportunity to research interesting organisations, identify key decision-makers, create compelling reasons to engage and build relationships with prospects over time.

If you're naturally persistent, enjoy speaking to people and get a buzz from achieving sales this could be for you.

About The Role

As Business Development Executive, you'll play a key role in generating new business opportunities across a defined portfolio of target accounts.

You'll be responsible for finding opportunities, opening conversations and developing early-stage relationships before working with the wider sales team to progress those opportunities.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Researching target organisations and identifying the right decision-makers and influencers
  • Using telephone, LinkedIn and email to create meaningful conversations
  • Developing creative, relevant reasons for prospects to engage, rather than relying on generic scripts
  • Building relationships through thoughtful and persistent follow-up
  • Identifying and qualifying genuine sales opportunities
  • Securing high-quality meetings for the wider sales team
  • Following up leads generated through marketing, referrals, events and other channels
  • Keeping accurate and up-to-date information within HubSpot
  • Joining customer meetings, site visits and industry events when appropriate
  • Gradually taking greater ownership of opportunities as your confidence and capability grow

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
