About the Role
Emerald Telecom is looking for an energetic, motivated, and target-driven Field Sales Executive to join our growing sales team.
This is a hands-on sales role combining office-based sales activity with face-to-face field sales. You will be responsible for generating new business, contacting potential customers, arranging and attending meetings, building strong client relationships, and successfully closing sales.
We are particularly interested in candidates with previous telecoms sales experience who are confident speaking with customers, comfortable with cold calling and face-to-face selling, and have a proven ability to generate and close business.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate new business through cold calling, prospecting and field sales activities.
- Identify and develop new sales opportunities within the target market.
- Generate leads independently through telephone calls, networking, referrals and face-to-face prospecting.
- Arrange and attend face-to-face meetings with prospective clients.
- Present and promote Emerald Telecom's products and services professionally.
- Understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate telecom solutions.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Manage the complete sales process from lead generation through to closing.
- Follow up with prospects consistently and convert opportunities into customers.
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and KPIs.
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, meetings and sales activity.
- Work closely with the internal sales and management teams to maximise opportunities.
- Represent Emerald Telecom professionally when meeting customers and prospects in the field.
- Keep up to date with telecom products, services, pricing and market developments.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
