Business Development Executive
Location: Office-based – must live within approximately 30–40 minutes of the office
Salary: £30,000–£40,000 depending on experience
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Probation: 6-month probationary period
Driving: Full UK driving licence required
Role Overview
We are looking for a driven, organised, and commercially minded Business Development Executive to help develop new accounts, open new markets, and create commercial opportunities across key growth sectors for Lithe Audio and Retrotouch.
This role is ideal for someone with a minimum of 3 years’ sales or business development experience who is confident building relationships, identifying opportunities, and supporting the delivery of projects to customers.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Sales Director to develop opportunities, support customer projects, and help move commercial conversations through to successful outcomes.
The role will focus on developing new business across trade, development, and specification channels, including housing developers, M&E consultants, architects, interior designers, wholesalers, retailers, and the KBB sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop new accounts and markets across key target sectors.
- Identify and approach new commercial opportunities across housing developers, M&E consultants, architects, designers, wholesalers, retailers, and KBB channels.
- Take ownership of commercial opportunities from early-stage outreach through to qualified meetings, follow-ups, and next steps.
- Work closely with the Sales Director to deliver projects to customers and support commercial project progression.
- Arrange key meetings for senior management and the Sales Director with new prospects, partners, and potential customers.
- Open doors into sectors, accounts, and opportunities where the business does not currently have strong relationships.
- Research and build target lists of companies, decision-makers, and relevant contacts.
- Make outbound calls, send introductory emails, and follow up with prospects in a professional and organised way.
- Support the development of new business pipelines and maintain accurate records of conversations, opportunities, and next steps.
- Work across trade, development, and specification channels to build long-term customer relationships.
- Help explore and recommend key exhibitions, trade shows, and events for the business to attend.
- Attend selected UK exhibitions and events when required.
- Work closely with the wider sales and marketing team to support campaigns, product launches, and customer outreach.
- Build strong knowledge of the company’s products, sectors, and target customers.
- Provide regular updates on activity, progress, opportunities, and potential market feedback.

Skills and Experience
Essential
- Minimum 3 years’ sales or business development experience, ideally in a B2B, trade, construction, interiors, electrical, AV, smart home, lighting, KBB, or related sector.
- Experience developing new accounts, new business opportunities, or new markets.
- Confident communicator with strong telephone, email, and face-to-face skills.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage follow-ups, contacts, opportunities, and project activity.
- Proactive attitude with the confidence to approach new prospects and open new conversations.
- Commercially aware and comfortable taking ownership of opportunities.
- Able to work across trade, development, and specification channels.
- Able to work closely with the Sales Director and wider team to support customer projects.
- Able to work from the office and live within approximately 30–40 minutes of the office.
- Full UK driving licence and ability to travel to meetings and exhibitions when required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to keep CRM or sales records up to date.

Desirable
- Existing knowledge of housing developers, architects, M&E consultants, consultants, wholesalers, retailers, or KBB channels.
- Experience attending trade shows, exhibitions, or industry networking events.
- Knowledge of electrical products, smart home technology, AV, interiors, lighting, or home improvement sectors.
- Experience using CRM systems or structured sales pipelines.
- Experience supporting customer projects from enquiry through to delivery.

- Supporting the delivery of customer projects in partnership with the Sales Director.
- Creating new opportunities in sectors where the business is not currently active.
- Helping the business identify the right exhibitions and trade events to attend.
- Developing strong product and market knowledge.
- Becoming a reliable and organised point of contact for early-stage business development opportunities.
