I’m recruiting for an award-winning, fast-growing FinTech that is experiencing exceptional international growth and is looking for an ambitious Business Development Executive to join its Cardiff team.
Already operating across multiple countries, the business has achieved huge and impressive year-on-year growth and is continuing to expand rapidly into new international markets.
This is a genuine new business sales role (in fact 2 roles) for someone who enjoys the chase, loves opening doors and takes real satisfaction from turning a prospect into a long-term commercial relationship.
The role
You’ll be responsible for growing an international partner network, managing the full sales cycle from initial prospecting and negotiating through to close and onboarding.
Your day will include:
- High-volume international prospecting through phone, email, LinkedIn and online meetings
- Identifying and approaching potential partners across global markets
- Understanding their commercial needs and presenting a compelling solution
- Managing negotiations and closing new business
- Building strong, long-term international relationships
- Managing your own pipeline and activity through CRM
- Working closely with internal teams to ensure new partners are successfully onboarded

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Why you're a good match

See breakdownIt searches the market for you
Every day your agent scans the market matching roles against what actually matters to you, not just keywords on a CV.
Why you're a good match
You’ve got the grades and the economics background, and your bank internship is exactly the experience this scheme looks for. Apply soon — deadlines close within the month.
Experience fit
Your summer at the bank plus your econometrics coursework map directly to the day-one responsibilities on this scheme — client modelling, market briefings, and deal support.
Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Importantly, the majority of your international selling will be done online and over the phone rather than face-to-face.
Who I’m looking for
I’m particularly interested in speaking to people with proven experience in digital and international sales, who understand the different challenges that come with working across countries, cultures and time zones.
You’ll need to be someone who is:
- Commercial, driven and comfortable working to targets
- Confident with cold calling and high-volume new business activity
- Experienced in managing a full sales cycle
- Accountable – you take ownership of both successes and problems
- A natural problem solver who comes with solutions
- Proactive and able to make things happen without waiting to be asked
- Open to feedback and able to respond constructively rather than defensively
- Resilient, positive and comfortable in a fast-moving growth environment
- Comfortable building relationships remotely with people around the world
Experience within FinTech, travel technology, vehicle rental or a partnership-led business would be advantageous, but the right international sales experience and attitude are more important.

🌍 A genuinely international role
With customers and partners around the world, there will occasionally be early starts or later finishes to accommodate different international time zones. You need to be comfortable with that flexibility.
🏢 This is an onsite position
The business has deliberately built a collaborative, energetic sales environment at its Cardiff city-centre HQ. This role is therefore fully onsite – it is not hybrid or remote.
Why join?
You’ll be joining an award-winning Welsh FinTech during a significant period of international expansion, with:
- £35,000–£40,000 basic salary
- Uncapped commission
- Exposure to international markets
- Opportunities to attend major global trade shows
- Investment in your learning and development
- Excellent Company pension
- Genuine opportunity to grow alongside a rapidly scaling business
This would really suit someone who thinks: “Give me the target, let me take ownership of it and I’ll find a way to make it happen.”
If you have a strong track record in international new business sales and want to be part of an ambitious FinTech growth story, I’d love to hear from you.
