Business Development Executive
About the Role
At Electrical Thermal Solutions (ETS), part of Spirax Group—comprising Chromalox, Durex Industries, Vulcanic, and Thermocoax—we create electrical process heating and temperature management solutions, including industrial heaters and systems, heat tracing, and advanced component technologies.
At Chromalox, we specialize in developing advanced thermal technologies for some of the world’s most demanding industrial heating applications. Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the company traces its roots back a century to the invention of the first metal-sheathed resistance heating element by a self-taught engineer—a solution that revolutionised the industry.
We thrive in sectors where high standards are expected. Whether it's delivering solutions that exceed specifications, mitigating risk, or reducing operational costs, we are recognised for technical excellence and commercial acumen.
Join us and play a part in shaping the future of industrial thermal solutions!
The Role
As a Business Development Executive, you will work closely with the Business Development Director to drive the commercial growth of two thermal-solutions brands across cutting-edge sectors—semiconductor fabrication equipment, nuclear, aerospace & defense—in an international, multi-channel environment.
This is a stepping-stone opportunity, designed to provide hands-on exposure to business development while supporting the Director in strategic projects. You will take ownership of critical analysis, preparation, and coordination tasks that underpin commercial success.
Your Responsibilities
Support to the BD Director
- Assist in preparing the Director’s working materials, including presentations, briefing notes, opportunity files and meeting minutes.
- Maintain an action and deadline tracker (BD dashboard, initiative monitoring, internal follow-ups).
- Compile and refine inputs for committees and pipeline reviews.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
