Business Development Consultant

Location: Remote

Job type: Permanent

Salary: Base salary £31,720. Year 1 OTE £40,000

Contracted Hours: 40 hours per week (8.30am-5pm)

About The Role

To build excellent relationships with people and managers across the business to provide consistent and robust delivery of external sales, that are in line with legislation, internal policies, and organisational approach.

What does the role involve?

  • Managing the delivery of external sales objectives.
  • To achieve maximum sales profitability and growth within an assigned territory and/or market segment by effectively selling the company’s products and related services.
  • To manage the receipt, handling, and escalation of relevant sales enquiries.
  • To make sales calls and conduct sales meetings.
  • Maintain collection of data and ensure analytics are developed to improve future sale opportunities.
  • Collaborate with financial and marketing professionals to generate increasing income from sales, and profit, in line with agreed targets, while generating leads using internet searching, cold calls, social media and attend networking events to identify potential areas for sales opportunities locally and nationally.
  • Contact current and prospective employers to discuss and sell our short courses and privately funded apprenticeship opportunities as well as local authority and national opportunities.
  • Work alongside other areas of the business such as recruitment, to track apprentice vacancies. Perform delegated marketing, sales, and PR activities to promote courses and apprenticeships, working closely with the Sales & Marketing Manager and Administrator to execute these.
  • Work alongside the business development team leader and Director of Business Development to raise any queries or opportunities in timely manner.

What are we looking for?

  • Self-motivated, reliable, enthusiastic, team player and work effectively under pressure.
  • Maintain professionalism and always handle sensitive and confidential information.
  • Strong Administration skills - including Microsoft Office, excel, word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage a varies programme of work, manage expectations and conflicting priorities.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written), Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • A high level of commercial awareness and a desire to deliver tangible results in a cost effective manner.
  • Previous experience within a Sales Environment.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms.
  • Develop learner engagement and sales.
  • Complete mandatory and desirable training relevant to your role, as well as being prepared to undertake CPD Continuous Professional Development as appropriate.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
