Business Development Executive, Roboshop

The Role

The Business Development Executive, Roboshop will support the expansion and day to day development of POP MART’s Roboshop network across Europe. The role will focus on identifying potential locations, supporting commercial discussions with landlords and partners, coordinating new site launches and monitoring the performance of existing locations.

Working closely with the Head of Business Development and local market stakeholders, the Business Development Executive will help ensure Roboshop projects progress efficiently from initial opportunity assessment through installation, launch and ongoing operation.

  • Research and identify potential Roboshop locations across Europe, including shopping centres, transport hubs, tourist destinations and other high footfall locations.
  • Support site evaluation using factors such as footfall, customer profile, commercial terms, sales potential and expected return on investment.
  • Assist with landlord, property agent and commercial partner discussions, including preparation of proposals and supporting information.

Project Coordination & Launch

  • Coordinate Roboshop projects from site approval through contracting, installation and launch, maintaining clear timelines and following up on outstanding actions.
  • Work with internal teams on machine procurement, logistics, branding, merchandising and other launch requirements.
  • Coordinate with local teams and external partners to support site access, installation arrangements and smooth operational handover.

Performance & Commercial Analysis

  • Maintain accurate Roboshop location, pipeline and project trackers and provide regular progress updates.
  • Monitor sales and operational performance by location, identifying potential performance issues and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support preparation of business cases, financial analysis and recommendations for new locations, formats or market pilots.

Partner & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Maintain effective relationships with landlords, shopping centre management teams, commercial partners and other external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Retail, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Finance and other internal teams to resolve operational or commercial issues.
  • Support cross market Roboshop initiatives and ensure relevant information and best practices are shared across European markets.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, Real Estate, Retail Management or a related discipline.
  • Around 2 to 3 years of relevant experience in business development, retail expansion, property, account management, partnerships or project coordination.
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple locations and priorities at the same time.
  • Good commercial awareness and confidence working with basic sales, cost, ROI and performance data.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to engage with landlords, commercial partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Proactive and hands-on working style, with strong attention to detail and the ability to follow projects through to completion.
  • Good proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and general project or business tracking tools.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in retail development, vending, automated retail or other non-traditional retail channels.
  • Familiarity with the UK or wider European retail and commercial property landscape.
  • Experience within toys, collectibles, lifestyle, entertainment or pop culture retail.
  • Chinese or another European language would be advantageous, but is not essential.
  • Experience working in an international or cross-cultural business environment.
