Business Development Executive
Composed of Chromalox, Durex Industries, Vulcanic, and Thermocoax businesses, Electrical Thermal Solutions (ETS)—part of Spirax Group—creates electrical process heating and temperature management solutions, including industrial heaters and systems, heat tracing, and a range of component technologies.

About the Role
Working closely with the Business Development Director, this role supports commercial growth across two thermal-solutions brands, serving high-technology sectors including:
- Semiconductor fabrication equipment
- Nuclear
- Aerospace & defense
This is a stepping-stone position—the ideal candidate will learn business development under the Director whilst taking ownership of analysis, preparation, and coordination work in a global and multi-channel environment.
Responsibilities
Support to the BD Director
- Prepare working materials for the Director, including:
- Presentations
- Briefing notes
- Opportunity files
- Meeting minutes
- Track actions and deadlines via:
- BD dashboard management
- Initiative tracking
- Internal follow-ups
- Collect and consolidate input for committees and pipeline reviews
Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify:
- Opportunities
- Emerging trends
- Competitor moves
- Technological developments
- Build and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base covering:
- Target markets
- Key account insights
- Wider ecosystem:
- Direct customers
- OEMs
- Distributors
- Partners
- Competitors
- Analyse commercial and market data to extract actionable insights

Support to Sales & Channels
- Develop segment and channel playbooks for:
- Direct sales
- OEM partnerships
- Distribution networks
- Create and refine application pitches
- Leverage sales & marketing assets to engage with multi-channel prospects
- Contribute to initiatives structuring and enhancing the commercial organization, including:
- Aligning practices across two brands
- Rolling out new tools or processes
Technical Coordination & Proposals
- Collaborate with technical teams to deepen the understanding of:
- Our products
- Thermal solutions applications
- Assist in creating client proposals and presentations that highlight the value proposition
Requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Engineering (preferably industrial/thermal)
- Scientific/technical field
- Commercially oriented course with a technical bias
Experience & Skills

1–3 years’ experience in:
- Sales
- Business development
- Commercial support
- Ideally in an industrial or technical environment
- (A strong early track record is valued over extensive experience)

First exposure to:
- International environments
- Multicultural collaboration

Early sales or channel experience, including:
- Direct customer interactions
- OEM partnerships
- Distribution networks

Competencies
- Strong numeracy skills with an appetite for data analysis (proficient in Excel).
- Excellent writing and presentation skills (PowerPoint competency is a plus).
- Technical curiosity, eagerness to learn how demanding industrial products work.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal (stakeholder management) and external (client facing) engagement.
- Fluent in English (mandatory); additional languages are highly regarded.
Key Attributes
- Highly discreet (role involves access to sensitive information).
- Reliable and self-sufficient in delivery.
- Occasional travel (domestic and international) may be required.
Preferred Attributes
- Understanding of commercial organizations, including:
- Roles and processes
- Functional interplay between sales, marketing, and business development
- Interest in change management and reforming commercial practices
- Experience in multi-brand or multi-channel environments
