Business Development Executive @ Running Paper

Remote | £30,000 to £35,000 | Full time

About Running Paper

Running Paper is an AI marking and assessment platform for schools. We mark pen and paper assessments at scale, giving teachers their time back and helping students get faster, personalised feedback. We cover KS3 to KS5 across the majority of subjects and work with more than 100 secondary schools and over 20 multi academy trusts (MATs).

We're an early stage startup and we're growing. We're a team of six full time. The pace is fast and the work is hard, but you'll get real autonomy and see the direct impact of what you do.

The role

As our first Business Development Executive, you'll help more schools discover Running Paper. Your main focus is getting school decision makers to a demo. Demos booked is the number that matters most and you'll see your impact on it every week.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

You'll own outbound campaigns from day one, test new channels and double down on what works.

What you'll do

  • Own our outbound strategy. Decide how we reach new schools, whether that's LinkedIn, physical post, email or a mix. Then run it end to end: target lists, messaging, campaigns and tracking what converts.
  • Build the brand on LinkedIn. Run our LinkedIn presence and organic content so schools recognise our name before we reach out, bringing in more warm leads.
  • Represent Running Paper at schools and UK education conferences throughout the year, connecting directly with senior leaders and trust executives.
