Business Development Executive

London | Hybrid | £35,000 to £40,000 basic + £45,000 to £60,000 OTE package

We’re working with a well-established EdTech and e-learning business that provides technology-led learning, training and development programmes to organisations across the UK.

The business works with a wide range of various sector and commercial organisations, helping them develop their people through high-quality e-learning and professional development solutions.

This is a genuine new-business opportunity for someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships and closing new clients. You’ll have the opportunity to work with organisations across a range of sectors, identify new opportunities and take ownership of the sales process from initial outreach through to closing.

The Role

As a Business Development Executive, you’ll be responsible for generating new business and growing the customer base.

You’ll spend your time identifying target organisations, engaging decision-makers, qualifying opportunities and presenting the value of tailored learning and development programmes. This is a target-driven role with strong earning potential and uncapped commission, making it ideal for someone who is commercially motivated and wants to progress their career in sales.

What you’ll be doing

  • Identifying and targeting new business opportunities
  • Prospecting through outbound calls, email and LinkedIn
  • Building relationships with senior decision-makers
  • Understanding client requirements and identifying relevant learning solutions
  • Running discovery calls and sales conversations
  • Managing opportunities through the full sales cycle
  • Closing new business and achieving revenue targets
  • Maintaining accurate pipeline activity and forecasting
  • Working collaboratively with internal teams to deliver a strong customer experience

What we’re looking for

  • Minimum 1 year of B2B sales experience (SDRs welcome!)
  • Comfortable with outbound prospecting and generating your own opportunities
  • Commercially driven and motivated by targets and commission
  • Confident communicating with decision-makers
  • Strong relationship-building and communication skills
  • Resilient and able to handle objections and rejection
  • Coachable, ambitious and keen to develop
  • Experience selling into the public sector would be advantageous, but isn't essential
