Job Description – Business Development Executive

Job Title: Business Development Executive

Company: ROAR Events Agency Ltd

Department: Sales & Business Development

Reporting To: Head of Events

Location: Cambridge with client meetings and networking

Employment Type: Full-Time

About ROAR Events Agency

ROAR Events Agency is a full-service events agency creating exceptional business events, conferences, experiences, celebrations and incentive programmes for organisations across Cambridge, the UK and internationally.

We help organisations find venues, develop event concepts and manage every aspect of their events, from initial idea through to onsite delivery.

As we continue to grow, developing new client relationships and partnerships will be central to our success.

The Role

We are looking for a confident, ambitious and commercially minded Business Development Executive to join our team.

This is an entry-level business development role combining structured apprenticeship learning with practical experience in sales, marketing, networking and client development.

You will help identify organisations that could benefit from ROAR’s services, introduce the agency, develop relationships and generate qualified opportunities for the Events Team.

This is not simply a cold-calling role. Our approach is based on intelligent prospecting, relationship building, networking and understanding what potential clients are trying to achieve.

As your confidence and experience develop, you will take greater ownership of prospects, meetings and new business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

New Business Development

  • Research and identify potential clients and target organisations.
  • Identify relevant decision-makers and event buyers within target businesses.
  • Build and maintain prospect databases.
  • Make initial contact with prospective clients through telephone, email, LinkedIn and networking.
  • Introduce ROAR’s services clearly and professionally.
  • Arrange discovery meetings for qualified prospects.
  • Follow up enquiries and potential opportunities.
  • Maintain regular contact with prospective clients.
  • Support campaigns targeting specific industries and geographical areas.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
