Role Description

The Business Development Executive role at VSL Trade is a full-time, on-site position nationwide. The role involves identifying and developing new business opportunities with convenience stores and retail partners, including prospecting and qualifying leads.

The Business Development Executive will manage and grow assigned accounts, maintain regular communication with clients, and address service or product inquiries. The role also includes collaborating with internal teams to share market feedback, support marketing initiatives, and contribute to sales targets and revenue growth.

Qualifications

  • New Business Development and Lead Generation skills to identify, pursue, and convert prospects into active customers.
  • Account Management and Business skills to maintain relationships, grow existing accounts, and understand commercial drivers.
  • Strong Communication skills to present solutions clearly, negotiate effectively, and engage with a wide range of retail stakeholders.
  • Relevant experience in B2B sales or business development, ideally within retail, FMCG, or technology platforms.
  • Proven ability to work toward sales targets, manage a pipeline, and use CRM tools efficiently.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to work independently on-site in Birmingham.
  • Comfortable with regular travel to visit clients and prospects within the region as needed.
  • Formal education in Business, Marketing, or a related field is beneficial but not required; equivalent experience is valued.
