Business Development Executive
Location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire
Salary: £32,000 – £35,000 basic salary + bonus scheme
The Role
We are looking for an experienced and commercially minded Business Development Executive to join an established and growing business based in Auckley, Doncaster.
Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, building strong customer relationships and growing sales across the UK.
You will be selling a wide range of products, primarily to customers within the Food & Beverage industry, with opportunities to work with customers in the Pharmaceutical sector.
This is an office-based role with some UK travel. There may also be occasional opportunities for overseas travel.

Responsibilities of a Business Development Executive:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the UK.
- Build and manage new and existing customer accounts.
- Carry out telephone prospecting and identify key decision-makers.
- Plan and conduct customer visits effectively.
- Develop strong, long-term customer relationships through a consultative sales approach.
- Maximise sales opportunities against agreed targets.
- Work closely with the Business Development Manager and wider internal teams.
- Identify customer requirements and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
- Demonstrate and present products and services to customers in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Keep up to date with new products and developments and communicate these to customers.
- Attend exhibitions, conferences and customer events in the UK and internationally.
- Prepare sales and activity reports as required.
- Maintain accurate customer records and activity using the company CRM system.

Requirements of a Business Development Executive:
- 1–2 years' proven B2B sales experience.
- Experience in a customer-facing sales or business development role.
- Excellent customer service and consultative selling skills.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent organisation and time management skills.
- The ability to identify and engage with senior decision-makers.
- Strong commercial awareness and sound decision-making skills.
- The ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
- Good computer and CRM skills.
- A current, clean UK driving licence.
- The ability to commute to Doncaster and travel regularly throughout the UK.
