Location: Guildford, Surrey
Position Type: Full-Time | Fixed-Term Contract (9–12 Months)
Compensation: Competitive Basic Salary + Uncapped Commission

The College of Contract Management is a leading provider of professional education, delivering accredited online and face-to-face courses to working professionals across the UK and internationally. We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic, and professional Business Development Executive to join our UK team on a 9–12 month maternity cover contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing international education provider, supporting prospective students throughout their enquiry journey and helping them choose the right course to achieve their career goals. The role combines warm lead follow-up with proactive outbound sales and cold calling, giving you the opportunity to develop new business and build strong relationships with prospective students and organisations. In addition to a competitive basic salary, you will have the opportunity to earn uncapped commission, directly rewarding your success and performance.
The Role
Working as part of our Business Development team, you will be responsible for engaging with prospective students and organisations through both inbound enquiries and proactive outbound sales activity. Your responsibilities will include:
- Responding to telephone and email enquiries from prospective students.
- Following up warm leads and providing information about our professional qualifications and training programmes.
- Making outbound sales calls and cold calls to prospective students and organisations.
- Proactively identifying and contacting new sales opportunities.
- Hosting Zoom consultations with prospective students and organisations.
- Building strong relationships and delivering an outstanding customer experience.
- Understanding prospective students' career goals and recommending suitable courses.
- Guiding prospective students through the enrolment process and converting enquiries into enrolments.
- Following up consistently with prospective students throughout the sales journey.
- Maintaining accurate records and updating activity within our CRM system.
- Working closely with colleagues across the admissions and operations teams.
- Supporting the wider Business Development team with additional customer-facing and administrative duties.

What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be confident speaking on the telephone and hosting Zoom meetings.
- Be comfortable making cold calls and proactively approaching new prospects.
- Enjoy sales and be motivated by achieving targets and earning commission.
- Be confident handling objections and turning conversations into opportunities.
- Enjoy helping people and building long-term relationships.
- Be organised with excellent attention to detail.
- Be confident using Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Have a proactive, professional, and positive attitude.
- Be able to manage their workload effectively within a fast-paced environment.
- Have the confidence and resilience to make a high volume of outbound calls and follow up opportunities consistently.

Previous experience in business development, telesales, outbound sales, admissions, student recruitment, education, customer service, account management, recruitment, hospitality, or another customer-facing role would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.

Contract Information
This is a full-time fixed-term maternity cover position for approximately 9–12 months. While the role is offered on a fixed-term basis, future opportunities may become available within the College as we continue to grow.
