Business Development Executive
Andover
Full time | Permanent
We’re looking for a proactive, sales-driven Business Development Executive to join our Internal Sales Desk team at Cross Rental Services.
This is a 100% office-based role focused on identifying lapsed, transaction, and new customers and converting these into actively trading accounts to manage and grow.
You’ll take ownership of the full sales cycle — from cold calling, qualifying opportunities, quoting, and ongoing account management. Roughly half your time will be spent on high-volume quoting and admin support for the wider Customer Service and External Sales teams.

What you’ll do:
- Identify, contact, qualify, and convert opportunities within the existing and lapsed customer base
- Run outbound calling campaigns and self-generate leads to win new business
- Manage the full quotation-to-order process using our CRM (Salesforce/Insphire)
- Develop transactional customers into more managed accounts
- Support peak periods by handling inbound leads, ensuring SLAs are met, and helping convert seasonal portable equipment opportunities
- Assist with non-standard quotations, pipeline reporting, and onboarding new customers
- Monitor enquiries, contract alerts, and other incoming business channels
- Work closely with External Sales, Key Account teams, and internal departments to deliver the right solutions

What we’re looking for:
Essential
- Proven track record in sales or business development
- Confident, professional telephone manner and strong ability to qualify and close
- Experience working to sales targets
- Comfortable with a significant admin/quoting element (around 30% of the role)
- Strong organisation, attention to detail, and CRM discipline
- Excellent written and verbal communication and negotiation skills
- Proactive team player who thrives in a fast-paced open-plan office
- Willingness to learn about the HVAC/hire industry

Desirable
- Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM
- Previous calling campaigns or list-building experience
- HVAC or equipment hire product knowledge
