Are you a pharmacist, technician or dispenser who has outgrown the dispensary?
You know what it's like behind the counter. The 4pm rush. The Pharmacy First consultation you squeezed in between a delivery and a methadone supply. The private service your boss keeps saying you should launch, that never quite gets launched because nobody has the paperwork, the PGD, or the time.
That is the problem we solve. And we want someone who has lived it to go and explain it to other pharmacies.
This is a genuine career change, not a sideways step. If you are commercially minded, energised by people rather than drained by them, and you have been quietly wondering whether there is more out there than another year of the same rota - read on.
Who we are
Scripter Digital provides Patient Group Directions and digital clinical consultation tools to community pharmacies across the UK.
Our PGD library covers over twenty private and NHS-adjacent services - travel health and vaccinations, weight management, acne, hair loss, men's health, Pharmacy First antibiotic pathways and more - each paired with an interactive consultation tool that walks the pharmacist through assessment, inclusion, exclusion and counselling, and produces a proper clinical record at the end.
In plain terms: we let an independent pharmacy launch a safe, governed private service in days rather than months. The whole library is included - a pharmacy gets every PGD and every consultation tool we have, plus everything we release afterwards, with nothing held back behind a higher tier. We are a small, clinically led team, and the person we hire will have a real hand in shaping how we grow.
The role
You will own the full business development cycle - finding pharmacies, winning them, and keeping them.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
- Prospecting on the ground. Getting in the car, walking into independent pharmacies and small groups on your patch, and starting the conversation with the pharmacist or owner. Yes, this is door to door. It works in this sector precisely because pharmacy is a relationship business, and because a rep who can talk clinically gets past the counter when a generic salesperson does not.
- Running demos. Showing the consultation tools live, on a screen, to a pharmacist who wants to know whether it will actually save them time. You will need to answer clinical and governance questions on the spot.
- Closing and onboarding. Taking a pharmacy from first conversation through trial, pricing, agreement and go-live.
- Account management. Checking in, spotting which sites are under-using what they already have, making sure they take up each new PGD as we release it, and turning happy customers into referrals.
- Feeding back. You will be closer to our customers than anyone. What you hear on the road should shape what we build next.
Who we are looking for
Essential
- A community pharmacy background - GPhC-registered pharmacist, registered pharmacy technician, or an experienced dispenser or dispensary manager
- Real understanding of how a community pharmacy actually runs, and the commercial and workload pressures it is under
- Confident starting a conversation with a stranger and comfortable being told no
- Organised enough to manage your own diary, pipeline and follow-ups without someone chasing you
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
- Right to work in the UK
Nice to have
- Any prior sales, retail or customer-facing commercial experience
- Experience delivering private services or Pharmacy First in practice
- Familiarity with PMR systems and how digital tools fit alongside them
What we are not asking for

Get help with your application
Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You do not need a sales background. We would rather teach commercial skills to someone who understands pharmacy than teach pharmacy to someone who understands sales. Training, coaching and a structured ramp-up are provided.
Being straight with you
Field sales is not an easier job than the dispensary, it is a different one. Some weeks you will walk into fifteen pharmacies and get three conversations. You will drive a lot. You will hear no far more often than yes, and you will need to be the kind of person who finds the next door rather than the nearest excuse.
The upside is real: uncapped earnings, autonomy over your own week, no rota, no Saturdays on the counter, and a route into commercial healthcare that stays open long after this role.
What you get
- A mix of remote and in-person working - pharmacy visits and face to face demos out on your patch, with pipeline, follow-ups, online demos and admin done from home
- Competitive basic salary with uncapped commission - your earnings are not limited by how well you do
- Mileage allowance for all business travel
- All equipment provided - laptop, phone and everything you need to run demos on the road
- 28 days holiday plus bank holiday pay
- Full product and sales training, with ongoing clinical support from our medical directors
- Genuine progression - this is our first commercial hire, and the person who does it well will build the team behind them
- [Support with GPhC / GPhC-equivalent registration fees and CPD, if you wish to stay registered]
How to apply
Send your CV and a short note - a few lines is fine - telling us about one thing in community pharmacy you think is broken, and how you would sell the fix, to info@scripter.digital
