Business Development Executive

Reports to: Head of Business Development

Location: Milton Keynes

Department: Business Development

Role Overview

As a Business Development Executive, you will support the Head of Business Development in driving growth across Broadbandbuyer’s customer and manufacturer base. This is a hands-on, learning-focused role designed to build your commercial skills and prepare you for a future career in business development. You will play a key part in strengthening customer relationships, assisting in the identification of new opportunities, and learning to develop the skills to communicate between internal teams and external partners. Over time, you will take on more responsibility for managing accounts, developing new opportunities, and contributing directly to revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development Support

  • Assist in identifying new business opportunities within the customer base.
  • Research market trends, competitor activity, and product areas to support informed decision-making.
  • Contribute to the preparation of proposals, presentations, and business cases.
  • Maintain and update the sales pipeline, ensuring accurate reporting and opportunity tracking.

Account Management

  • Support in managing and nurturing key customer and manufacturer relationships.
  • Handle day-to-day partner queries and provide timely, professional responses.
  • Proactively check in with accounts to ensure ongoing satisfaction and identify growth opportunities.
  • Gather feedback from partners and communicate insights back to the business.

Internal Collaboration & Administration

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, technical, and the operations teams to deliver value to partners.
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry into CRM systems.
  • Produce reports and summaries for management on activity, opportunities, and performance.

Growth & Development

This is an entry-level role with clear progression opportunities. You’ll work closely with the Head of Business Development, gaining exposure to:

  • Strategic business development planning.
  • High-level account management.
  • Manufacturer and supplier engagement.
  • Deal structuring and commercial negotiations. As you grow, you will gradually take ownership of your own accounts and business development projects.

Skills & Experience

  • Some experience in a commercial, sales, account management, or customer-facing role (desirable but not essential).
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with confidence in speaking to customers and suppliers.
  • Commercial awareness and a genuine interest in technology, licensing, and hardware deployment.
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
  • Self-motivated, eager to learn, and able to take initiative.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with CRM platforms is a plus.
  • Full UK Driving License
