Business Development Executive

Software Solutions for Auction Houses

Basic salary £35,000 - £40,000 + uncapped OTE + car allowance + great benefits

Home based in the UK

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join my client's sales team as a Business Development Executive. The company have been the market leader in auction software for decades and their reputation has been built through innovation, trusted partnerships and delivering technology that genuinely helps their customers succeed. They are now looking for a new business sales professional to continue to drive their business forward in their existing auction markets and also expand into new ones. If you have strong new business sales experience and have either sold SaaS solutions or have sold something else into the auctions market you'd be a brilliant fit. Alternatively we are happy to consider candidates with strong new business sales experience in other sectors.

The Role:

  • Identify, qualify and develop new sales opportunities across the UK and Ireland through lead generation and building and managing a healthy pipeline through proactive prospecting.
  • Selling software solutions to auction houses, predominantly in the established agricultural sector but also identifying opportunities in new and related sectors.
  • You'll work from home with travel throughout the UK to conduct online and face-to-face product demonstrations, developing relationships with business owners, auctioneers and decision makers.
  • You'll attend auctions, exhibitions, trade shows and networking events to generate new opportunities.
  • The role will work closely with marketing to maximise lead generation campaigns but you will be expected to self generate a significant amount of your new business.
  • Average order values can be between £10k and £100k with lead times from 6 weeks to 12 months.
  • Quarterly team meetings are held remotely but there will be some travel needed to head office from time to time.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
