Job Title: Desk-Based Business Development Manager / SDR

We are working with a fast-growing technology and network services business that is looking for a driven Desk-Based Business Development Manager / SDR to join its Glasgow-based sales team.

This is a genuine new business generation role focused on creating opportunities across the UK mid-market and enterprise space, typically targeting businesses with 250+ users.

Responsibilities

You will be responsible for:

  • Identifying target accounts
  • Engaging senior IT and business stakeholders
  • Uncovering potential challenges within their current environment
  • Booking high-quality meetings for the senior field sales team

This is not a role where success is measured purely by the number of calls you make. The focus is on quality conversations, qualified opportunities, and revenue-generating meetings.

The Role

You will be responsible for:

  • Researching target accounts and building high-quality prospect lists
  • Identifying key decision-makers across IT and business functions
  • Conducting high-activity outbound prospecting and cold calling
  • Engaging prospects to understand their current technology environment and business challenges
  • Generating qualified meetings for senior field-based sales professionals
  • Booking approximately 3 quality customer meetings per week
  • Managing the meeting-generation process from initial research through to qualification and booking
  • Working closely with field sales, technical presales, and vendor partners on campaigns and follow-up activity

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
