Business Development Executive – Transactional and Banking & Finance Practice Groups

The Business Development Executive – Transactional and Banking & Finance Practice Groups will assist in delivering the in-market business development and marketing operations and plans for the Transactional and Banking & Finance PGs. The role holder will be working side by side with the Managers to execute growth plans and promote key service lines, client opportunities, and cross-selling initiatives.

Though the focus of the role is supporting the London team, many projects are international in nature and involve collaborating with other offices and Practice Groups to enhance cross-selling opportunities. This role is multifaceted and the successful candidate will have both exposure to varied practice groups and the opportunity to gain great experience across the entire business development and marketing mix.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Support the execution of BDMC plans for the Transactional and Banking & Finance Practice Groups by delivering high-quality BDMC support and bringing in BDMC Specialist and Center-based functions as required (these functions include central marketing, directories, awards, proposals, events, key client management, data analytics, and design teams)
  • Support the implementation of Transactional and Banking & Finance Practice Group priorities such as client targeting, thought leadership, effective response to requests for proposals, and assisting with a range of special projects across the practice groups, under the guidance and direct supervision of the Managers. The role may also include support on special project/cross-practice initiatives as required
  • Maintain and develop the Firm's profile within the Groups being supported, including a selection of sponsorship, trade body membership, and in-house campaign initiatives
  • Together with the Managers, support the Partners and other fee earners to identify and implement external profile-raising opportunities, including our thought-leadership program/campaigns, article writing, and speaking opportunities; always looking for opportunities internally and externally to promote work on products/propositions
  • Champion the use of social media from helping the fee earners focus on content generation, to upskilling the group to regularly post and share our content
  • Work with colleagues across BDMC, Client Development, and Industry Sectors to ensure lawyers are armed with information on the latest trends and related hot topics/talking points and use them to generate opportunities. There is a lot of information out there and we can play a big role in joining the dots
  • Ensure that content and materials (e.g. capability statements) suitable for BDMC purposes are captured, kept up-to-date, and shared; develop new materials for prioritized and additional services lines and opportunities as required

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
