About the Role

Our team is growing, and we're looking for a resilient, driven Business Development Executive to join the sales team and help create new opportunities for Viridian.

You'll speak with finance and planning leaders, uncover their challenges, and secure well-qualified discovery meetings. This is a high-activity role for someone with energy, graft, and genuine hunger to learn and earn. We'll give you the skills and knowledge to handle rejection with confidence, turn conversations around and build your career in finance technology sales and consulting. At Viridian, automated, tailored outreach handles the heavy lifting so you can focus on what matters most: live conversations. In return, you'll get hands-on mentoring and coaching from the sales lead, with a clear progression path into a full software sales role. Previous experience is useful but not essential, because we'll teach you the rest.

What Good Looks Like

  • Consistent meetings: You secure 3–5 qualified meetings each week with the right stakeholders in the right organizations.
  • Conversations that stand out: You blend energy, rapport and relevant insight so finance leaders want to keep talking.
  • Sharp qualification: You identify a clear business pain and an intended to change + timeframe for change before booking.
  • Pace with quality: You sustain a high-volume calling rhythm without losing professionalism or relevance.
  • Growing ownership: You take on more of the discovery conversation as your capability and pipeline impact grow.

Responsibilities

  • Make outbound calls to finance and planning leaders, typically 80–120 on heavy calling days.
  • Research organisations, current customers and contacts so every conversation is tailored to their role, sector and likely planning challenges.
  • Run coordinated multichannel outreach, with automated, tailored email and LinkedIn sequences supporting your calls.
  • Qualify against Viridian's ideal customer profile: the right organisation, the right stakeholder, a genuine pain and an intention to act.
  • Book discovery meetings and join the first conversation alongside the sales lead.
  • Build and prioritise your prospect lists, plan your week and keep CRM notes, and next steps accurate.
  • Hand qualified opportunities smoothly to sales and pre-sales for demo and solution stages.
  • Feed insight from your conversations back into our target segments, messaging, and campaigns.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Requirements

  • Hungry to learn and to earn: You're driven by achievement and motivated by clear goals and the rewards that come with hitting them.
  • Resilient: You're not scared to fail, you treat every "no" as a lesson, and you bring the same energy to the last call as the first.
  • A natural communicator: You're curious and confident, you listen well and you build rapport quickly.
  • Agile: You think on your feet and can steer a conversation where it needs to go.
  • Disciplined: You plan your week, follow up diligently and stay consistent while working remotely.
  • Coachable: You actively seek feedback and want a long-term career in enterprise sales.
  • Experience is a bonus, not a requirement: Business development, FP&A, EPM or finance software experience helps, but we'll teach you the product, the market and the craft.

Benefits

  • Earn as you perform: Commission rewards progress at multiple stages of the sales journey, so your effort shows up in your pay. Uncapped!
  • Mentoring, not micromanagement: You'll get hands-on coaching and regular call reviews from the sales lead, plus learning from sales professionals who've worked across multiple organizations and finance technologies.
  • A real progression path: You'll move from prospecting into running discovery and on towards a full enterprise sales role, based on readiness and impact rather than time served.
  • The tools to win: Automated, tailored outreach handles the heavy lifting, so your time goes on conversations.
  • Remote, with a close team: You'll work from anywhere in the UK and collaborate daily with colleagues.
  • Timing: You'll join Pigment's EMEA Delivery Partner of the Year at the start of its next growth phase.
