Ready to turn leads into long-term customer partnerships?

Looking for a role where your sales drive meets real technical value? Want to grow with a business that backs you from day one?

We are currently looking for a Business Development Executive to join our busy team in New Frankley in Birmingham (B45 OLD) — where every conversation can open doors to new growth.

Hours of Work:

full time

As our Business Development Executive, you’ll deliver sales growth across your defined geographical area by developing new opportunities and strengthening existing accounts. You’ll take a consultative approach, learning customers’ industrial control and automation challenges, then presenting solutions that genuinely add value. You’ll build trust with customers, manufacturers and colleagues, support marketing activity such as campaigns and promotions, and stay close to the local market by maintaining a strong presence in-branch. Along the way, you’ll keep developing your technical knowledge and sharpen your sales skills through continuous learning and training.

Business Development Executive Duties

  • Deliver sales growth through the development of both new and existing businesses within the defined geographical area.
  • Build trust and develop strong relationships with customers, manufacturers, and colleagues to achieve ‘win-win’ outcomes.
  • Adopt a consultative approach to sales, presenting solutions that deliver value and help solve industrial control and automation challenges.
  • Balance prospecting for new business with enhancing relationships across your existing portfolio.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the BPX branch to stay close to customers and the local market.
  • Support marketing activities such as campaigns, promotions and events to increase awareness of product launches.
  • Commit to learning, development and training across both technical and non-technical areas.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
