Technical Sales Manager – Chemicals

Salary: £35–47.5k DOE + bonuses

Location: Leeds (Hybrid)

A fast-growing UK-based speciality chemicals business is seeking a Business Development Executive to lead and grow a new business unit focused on raw materials for food, feed, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical applications. This is a high-impact, commercial role ideal for someone with strong technical expertise and a proven track record in B2B chemical sales.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive growth of a new speciality raw materials business unit
  • Develop and lead a sales team as the unit scales
  • Build and manage key customer relationships
  • Identify new business opportunities in the UK & EU
  • Conduct market analysis and track sales performance
  • Deliver technical and commercial presentations
  • Oversee budgeting, P&L, and profitability
  • Represent the company at industry events
  • Improve sales processes and tools
  • Travel to customers, distributors, and suppliers

Key Requirements

  • 3–5+ years B2B technical sales experience in chemicals
  • Strong Chemistry background (BSc/MSc or equivalent)
  • Proven business development and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Confident working independently (incl. hybrid/WFH)
  • Full driving licence and willingness to travel
