About BCD
BCD is a component distributor operating in the wireless, single-board computer (SBC), and embedded processing markets. We work with a range of leading global technology brands including Qualcomm and Raspberry Pi to supply components and solutions to engineers and businesses developing connected and embedded products. As we continue to grow, we're looking for a motivated Business Development Executive to join our team in Basingstoke and help drive new business across our target markets.
Role Overview
As Business Development Executive, you'll be responsible for identifying, developing, and growing customer relationships across the wireless, SBC, and embedded processing sectors. This is predominantly an office-based role from our Basingstoke HQ, with regular travel to visit customers and build face-to-face relationships. You'll manage the sales process end to end, from prospecting and quoting through to order fulfilment and account growth supported by an uncapped commission structure that rewards results.

Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities within the wireless, SBC, and embedded processing markets
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with new and existing customers
- Manage the full sales cycle, from initial enquiry through to quotation, order placement, and fulfilment
- Travel to visit customers face to face to understand their requirements and identify opportunities for growth
- Liaise with supplier and vendor partners (e.g. Qualcomm, Raspberry Pi) to stay current on new products, pricing, and technologies
- Prepare accurate quotations and proposals in response to customer enquiries
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of sales activity, opportunities, and pipeline
- Work towards and consistently meet or exceed agreed sales targets
- Keep up to date with market trends, competitor activity, and developments within the wireless, SBC, and embedded sectors

Essential:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills
- A proactive, self-motivated, and results-driven approach
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable working towards targets in a fast-paced sales environment
- Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel to customer sites as required
Desirable:
- Previous experience in a sales, business development, or account management role
- Some technical knowledge of, or genuine interest in, electronics, wireless technology, or embedded/SBC systems
- Experience within electronic component distribution or a related technical industry
- Familiarity with brands such as Qualcomm or Raspberry Pi, or the wider embedded computing market

- Salary of £25,000–£30,000 per annum, dependent on experience
