About the Role
This graduate role is centred on commercial growth. You will learn how Sage takes a client campaign from a clear brief to measurable customer acquisition activity, then use structured in person conversations to identify interest, explain value and create new business.
The work suits a graduate who wants direct commercial exposure rather than a desk based theory programme. You will be trained on the assigned client, customer profile, campaign objectives and reporting method before taking responsibility for your own activity. Campaigns may include consumer services, energy or telecommunications, depending on the live client brief.
What You Will Do
- Study the client proposition, target audience and campaign measures before beginning customer activity.
- Approach prospective customers professionally in approved Solihull campaign locations.
- Ask relevant questions, understand the customer situation and explain the service in plain language.
- Qualify genuine interest and complete the approved acquisition process accurately.
- Maintain daily records covering conversations, outcomes, follow ups and recurring objections.
- Share customer and competitor observations with the campaign manager during review meetings.
- Test approved conversation approaches and compare results using the available performance data.
- Build towards supporting territory planning and campaign improvement projects after demonstrating consistent results.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
