Invenia Search is partnered with an international pharmaceutical company experiencing an exciting period of organic growth and is looking for a Business Development professional to join its Portfolio & Business Development team in the UK.

This is a key role focused on identifying, developing and closing new licensing and partnership opportunities that support portfolio growth and deliver value for both the business and patients.

The Role

  • Identifying and developing in-licensing and partnership opportunities across the global pharmaceutical portfolio.
  • Building and managing a strong external network of potential partners, suppliers and industry contacts.
  • Leading commercial assessments, business cases and 10-year NPV modelling for potential deals.
  • Working cross-functionally with R&D, Regulatory, Commercial, Legal, Finance, Quality, Pharmacovigilance and Operations to assess and progress opportunities.
  • Leading Stage Gate submissions for new business development opportunities.
  • Negotiating and concluding commercial agreements, including appropriate out-licensing opportunities.
  • Managing existing and new partnerships, including forecasting, performance and relationship management.
  • Providing clear reporting on pipeline, opportunities, risks, forecasts and deal performance.
  • Representing the business at relevant industry conferences and networking events.

  • Proven pharmaceutical business development experience, particularly within in-licensing.
  • A strong track record of identifying, negotiating and closing BD deals involving pharmaceutical products or technologies.
  • An established network of relevant industry contacts and potential partners.
  • Strong commercial and strategic analysis skills, with experience developing business cases and financial models.
  • Excellent negotiation, collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and navigate complex, cross-functional projects.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach with a focus on delivering sustainable business growth.
