Company Description

Blackmont Consulting London Branch is a student-run consultancy based in the heart of London, focused on bridging academia and social impact. The branch operates on a pro bono model, providing consulting services to NGOs, nonprofits, and startups at no fee, emphasizing a strong commitment to social responsibility. Its diverse team of undergraduate and postgraduate students collaborates across disciplines to solve complex client challenges and deliver innovative solutions. Through mentorship and hands-on project work, the branch offers meaningful experiential learning and leadership development opportunities, preparing students to become impactful future leaders.

Role Description

The Business Development Intern (Students Only) role is a full-time, remote position designed for current students interested in consulting, social impact, and business growth. On a day-to-day basis, the intern will support lead generation, conduct market research, and identify potential clients aligned with the branch’s mission. The intern will help nurture relationships with NGOs, nonprofits, and startups by engaging in outreach, responding to inquiries, and providing high-quality, professional communication. Additional responsibilities may include preparing presentations, drafting proposals, maintaining CRM records, coordinating with consulting teams, and contributing to strategic initiatives that enhance the branch’s visibility and impact.

  • Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills and the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights for business development efforts.
  • Candidates should possess excellent Communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication, and the ability to present ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess Lead Generation skills, including prospecting, outreach, and pipeline management to support client acquisition and partnership development.
  • Candidates should possess Market Research skills to analyze sectors, map potential clients, and understand the needs of NGOs, nonprofits, and startups.
  • Candidates should possess Customer Service skills, demonstrating professionalism, empathy, and responsiveness when interacting with prospective and existing clients.
  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or postgraduate program, with a strong interest in consulting, social impact, or business development.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate in diverse student teams.
  • Proficiency with productivity tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation software, CRM or similar systems) and a willingness to learn new platforms.
  • Prior experience in student organizations, projects, or internships related to consulting, entrepreneurship, or nonprofit work is beneficial but not required.
