Role Description

The Business Development Intern — UK Accountancy Acquisitions role is an internship position focused on supporting deal origination and relationship-building in the UK accountancy sector. This is a hybrid role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with some work-from-home flexibility.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Conducting market and firm-level research on accountancy practices
  • Identifying potential acquisition targets
  • Assisting with lead generation activities such as outreach campaigns and pipeline tracking
  • Helping prepare summaries, presentations, and internal reports for senior team members
  • Supporting initial contact, follow-ups, and coordination with prospective partners
  • Maintaining accurate records in CRM tools
  • Collaborating with investment and operations teams
  • Contributing insights on sector trends and competitive dynamics

  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret financial and market data and synthesize findings into clear recommendations.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to produce concise emails, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Lead generation and business development abilities, such as identifying prospective targets, managing outreach lists, and supporting relationship-building activities.
  • Market research skills, including desk research, data gathering, and competitive analysis within professional services or related sectors.
  • Customer service and stakeholder management capabilities, with a professional, reliable, and detail-oriented approach to interacting with potential partners.
  • Interest in mergers and acquisitions, private equity, or professional services, ideally with some exposure through coursework, projects, or prior internships.
  • Comfort working in a technology-driven environment; familiarity with Excel, PowerPoint, CRM tools, and a willingness to learn AI-enabled workflows.
  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in finance, business, economics, accounting, or a related field, or possessing equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement in the London Area and manage time effectively across in-office and remote tasks.
