Tufcot is looking for a proactive and commercially minded Business Development Lead to drive our next phase of growth. This is a high-impact role designed for a "hunter" who enjoys the challenge of identifying new opportunities while maintaining the high standards of service our existing global customers expect.

You will work directly with the CEO to implement sales strategies, turning enquiries into orders, and leads into long-term partnerships and an active distributor network. You will have the autonomy to make the role your own. While primarily office-based, the role has scope to develop, and you will be the face of Tufcot at key industry exhibitions and during occasional UK and international client visits.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proactive Mindset: You don’t wait for the phone to ring; you are comfortable picking it up to follow up on a quote or introduce Tufcot to a new prospect.
  • Technical Aptitude: While you don't need to be a polymer scientist, you must be able to learn our material range and understand how our products solve engineering problems.
  • Self-Sufficient: You are comfortable working independently, managing your own diary, and taking ownership of your targets.
  • Communication Skills: You can talk to anyone—from a workshop manager to a senior director—with confidence and clarity.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a technical sales or business development role (ideally within engineering or manufacturing) is highly advantageous.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
