Job Description

At bp, we provide an excellent working environment and employee benefits such as an open and inclusive culture, an excellent work-life balance, tremendous learning and development opportunities to craft your career path, life and health insurance, medical care package and more.

About the Role

bp pulse is one of the UK’s leading EV charging providers, and this role sits at the center of our commercial growth strategy.

As Business Development Lead, your focus will be to drive utilization on public charge sites by handling demand partners, aggregators and roaming partners, while identifying and enabling new business opportunities that improve network performance and deliver customer growth.

You will be accountable for demand planning, initiation, negotiation, delivery and growth across both existing partnerships and new opportunities. This includes direct B2B customers, OEM partners, B2B2C demand aggregators, eMSPs, CPOs, roaming partners and bp channels including M&C / Fuel & Charge.

The role will help expand B2B and B2B2C customer channel access across public charging on-the-go, destination sites and greenfield hubs, working closely with the Customer & Channel Manager to maximise revenue and margin opportunities.

This is a highly autonomous commercial role. You will own partnerships end-to-end, from opportunity identification and negotiation through to delivery, optimisation and long-term value creation.

What you will deliver

  • Develop and implement the business development and partner strategy for demand-generating channels across bp pulse.
  • Drive utilization, sessions and kWh demand across the bp pulse charging network through strategic partnerships and channel growth.
  • Handle and grow existing demand partnerships across direct B2B customers, OEMs, aggregators, roaming partners and B2B2C channels.
  • Originate, assess, negotiate and deliver new partnerships that unlock incremental customer access, revenue and margin.
  • Lead the development, negotiation and governance of complex commercial agreements, partnership frameworks and contractual arrangements, balancing growth opportunities with commercial value, operational delivery and risk management requirements.
  • Expand roaming as a channel by handling relationships with eMSPs, CPOs, OEMs and relevant bp channels including M&C / Fuel & Charge.
  • Support B2B and B2B2C customer channel access across public on-the-go charging, destination sites and greenfield hubs.
  • Lead commercial negotiations and build agreements that are practical to deliver, commercially robust and aligned to bp pulse’s strategic objectives.
  • Own partner performance after launch, using demand planning, joint business planning, performance reviews and targeted interventions to grow value over time.
  • Develop partner propositions that meet customer and driver needs while protecting bp pulse margin and long-term value.
  • Work closely with Customer & Channel, Pricing, Marketing, Customer Experience, Product, Technology, Operations, Legal and Finance to bring partnerships optimally to market.
  • Use market insight, competitor understanding and performance data to identify new growth opportunities and improve commercial decision-making.
  • Influence senior internal and external customers to secure alignment, remove barriers and accelerate execution.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
