Business Development Lead
Yorkshire | Hybrid
CY Partners are partnering with a growing specialist Life Sciences and MedTech organisation to recruit an experienced Business Development Manager to support the continued growth of its MedTech, regulatory, quality and clinical consultancy services.
This is a commercially focused role for someone who already understands the MedTech and/or regulatory landscape, has experience developing new business and can bring established industry knowledge and relationships to the position.
This isn't about selling a product. You'll be working with organisations ranging from innovative start-ups to major global companies, understanding the challenges they're facing and developing opportunities across specialist regulatory, quality, clinical and technical consultancy services. You'll work closely with senior commercial and technical colleagues, combining their specialist expertise with your own market knowledge and network to identify opportunities, develop relationships and convert these into long-term customers.
What will you be doing?
You'll take ownership of developing new business across the MedTech market, proactively identifying opportunities and building relationships with key decision-makers.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll also:
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of new business opportunities
- Develop relationships across the MedTech, medical device and regulatory sectors
- Use your existing industry network while continuing to develop new contacts and opportunities
- Understand customer requirements and shape appropriate consultancy solutions
- Represent the business at major industry conferences, exhibitions and networking events

Who are we looking for?
We're looking for someone who can bring credible Life Sciences or MedTech business development experience and quickly establish themselves within the market. Your very own career expert that helps elevate your application to the next level.
You don't need to be a technical or regulatory specialist, but you'll need enough industry understanding to have credible conversations with customers, recognise commercial opportunities and know when to bring specialist colleagues into the discussion.
You'll be naturally proactive, commercially minded and comfortable creating opportunities rather than simply managing existing accounts. Strong relationship-building skills are essential, as is the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders across the industry.
For someone looking for greater ownership and the opportunity to make a visible commercial impact, this is a chance to join an ambitious business at an exciting stage of its growth.
The role will be hybrid and Yorkshire based, with travel to customers and industry events across the UK and internationally.
Applicants must have full and current Right to Work in the UK. CY Partners is acting as an employment agency in relation to this vacancy.
