Business Development Lead / Sales Director | Communications, Media & Technology
Wave Search is supporting a globally established consulting and technology organisation expanding its Communications, Media and Technology practice across the UK.
We are seeking an experienced Business Development Lead to drive new business across the wider TMT market, including:
- Telecommunications and connectivity
- Media and entertainment
- Broadcasting and streaming
- Advertising and digital media
- Publishing and information services
- Technology-led organisations
This is a senior, client-facing role reporting directly to the Vertical Head. You will shape go-to-market strategy, open strategic accounts and own the complete sales lifecycle—from initial engagement through to contract signature.
The Role:
You will identify, develop and close complex opportunities across consulting, digital transformation, IT services and business process solutions. The position requires someone who can build senior client relationships, create a qualified pipeline and lead large, multi-service opportunities within the UK communications, media and technology market.

Key Responsibilities:
- Define and execute a targeted sales strategy across the TMT sector
- Develop new business within telecoms, media, entertainment, broadcasting, publishing, advertising and information services
- Build and maintain a strong, qualified sales pipeline
- Open new logos and develop strategic client accounts
- Establish relationships with C-suite and senior decision-makers
- Lead complex consulting, technology and outsourcing opportunities
- Shape commercial propositions, business cases and transformation programmes
- Manage the full sales lifecycle, including qualification, proposals, negotiation and contract closure
- Deliver against revenue, pipeline and margin targets
- Maintain accurate forecasting and sales governance
Essential Experience:
- Proven success in new-business sales within communications, telecoms, media, entertainment, broadcasting, publishing, information services or the wider TMT sector
- Experience selling consulting, digital transformation, IT services, managed services or outsourcing solutions
- Demonstrable experience opening new accounts and winning new logos
- Strong understanding of complex, multi-service sales
- Experience engaging and influencing senior stakeholders at CXO level
- A track record of building pipeline and closing high-value opportunities
- Strong commercial, negotiation and account-planning skills

Location: London – Hybrid
Package: £130,000 basic salary + Sales Incentive Plan + benefits
