Business Development Lead - US Commercial Landscaping
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Lead - US Commercial Landscaping based in United Kingdom.
This is a remote, high-ownership B2B business development role focused on building a commercial landscaping sales pipeline across the U.S. market.
You will operate as a true hunter, identifying high-value commercial properties, researching decision makers, and uncovering upcoming contract and bid opportunities.
The role combines prospect research, outbound outreach, persistent follow-up, quote coordination, and CRM management.
You will work closely with onsite sales, estimators, field leadership, and other teams to turn opportunities into accurately quoted prospects and signed maintenance contracts.
A key part of the role is developing a proactive “cold quote” strategy that creates opportunities before prospects formally request a bid.
Success requires strong activity, commercial judgment, organization, resilience, and a genuine ownership mindset.
You will have significant influence on the development of a repeatable, scalable commercial sales engine while working during core U.S. business hours.
Accountabilities
- Build targeted prospect lists covering commercial properties such as multifamily communities, HOAs, retail centers, office parks, banks, schools, churches, industrial sites, and other relevant accounts.
- Research property owners, property managers, facility leaders, asset managers, HOA managers, developers, and other decision makers, identifying who controls or influences purchasing decisions.
- Investigate current providers, contract renewal dates, bid cycles, RFPs, public notices, and other indicators that a commercial landscaping opportunity may be approaching.
- Execute and coordinate consistent outbound activity through email, phone, LinkedIn, CRM workflows, and onsite follow-up.
- Develop multi-touch outreach sequences, re-engage dormant prospects, maintain relationships ahead of bid season, and follow opportunities through to a clear outcome.
- Coordinate quote requests with onsite sales, estimators, and field leadership, ensuring property information, measurements, photos, service requirements, and client expectations are captured accurately.
- Take ownership of proposal execution by tracking quote requests from initial intake through completion and delivery, with a target of proposals being delivered within 72 hours whenever possible.
- Develop and support a proactive cold quote program by identifying ideal properties, coordinating estimates or property reviews, preparing outreach, and tracking follow-up.
- Equip onsite sales and field teams with targeted property lists, contact information, visit notes, and relevant prospect intelligence.
- Maintain accurate CRM records covering prospects, contacts, property information, activity, next steps, bid cycles, quote status, and deal outcomes.
- Produce weekly pipeline and activity reporting, identify stalled opportunities, and highlight the property types, outreach methods, and lead sources generating the strongest results.
- Consistently work toward ambitious activity and pipeline targets, with an initial expectation of researching 150+ properties, adding 75+ qualified prospects, identifying 40+ decision makers, and completing 100+ outbound touches each week.
- Build a scalable outbound sales process over the first 90 days, with clear targets around prospect generation, decision-maker identification, bid-cycle tracking, quote opportunities, and cold quote packages.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
