Atlas NextWave are supporting a leading global service provider to the maritime and offshore energy sectors in the search for a Business Development Lead.

This is an exciting time to join an internationally recognised organisation as it continues to strengthen its market position, expand its service offering, and drive growth across key sectors. Based in Westhill, Aberdeen, this role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in shaping business development strategy and delivering sustainable commercial success.

The Opportunity

As Business Development Lead, you will be responsible for driving growth through the identification, development, and conversion of new business opportunities, whilst maximising value from existing client relationships. Working closely with senior leadership and operational stakeholders, you will lead the full business development lifecycle, from market engagement and opportunity qualification through to tender submission and contract award.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts across target markets and client organisations.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through market intelligence and strategic engagement.
  • Manage and maintain CRM systems, ensuring accurate pipeline management and reporting.
  • Collaborate with leadership teams to develop and execute growth strategies.
  • Lead the preparation of high-quality, client-focused tender submissions and proposals.
  • Coordinate and manage tender activities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Work closely with commercial and finance teams to develop robust commercial solutions.
  • Build strategic account plans to support client engagement and long-term growth.
  • Deliver regular updates and performance reports to senior management.
  • Support successful contract mobilisation activities alongside operational teams.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives aligned with broader business objectives.
  • Monitor industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging market opportunities.

About You

We are seeking a commercially minded and results-driven professional with a proven track record in business development, sales, or commercial leadership roles.

You will possess:

  • Demonstrable success in business development and revenue growth.
  • Strong commercial awareness and understanding of profit and loss drivers.
  • Experience developing and managing client relationships at all levels.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • The ability to create compelling, winning proposals and tender submissions.
  • Strong organisational and project management capabilities.
  • A proactive, self-motivated, and customer-focused approach.
  • The ability to influence, negotiate, and deliver results in a competitive environment.
  • Knowledge of the maritime, offshore, energy, or related industrial sectors would be advantageous.
