Business Development Manager – Premium Ambient Foods
£40,000 to £45,000 Basic, choice of company car or car allowance, bonus + benefits

The Role
- Brand new role to target and develop a new sales channel for the company
- Objective is to develop new business within the fine food/gifting food retail channel
- To bring on new business, manage the business and build this channel
- Targeting and developing both Group & Independent Retail Customers
- Targeted accounts will include Garden Centres, Farm Shops, Delicatessens, Food Halls, Gift Shops
- Group accounts will be a major focus although the jobholder will have full backing to develop business with independent, key & group accounts across retailers within this channel
- The role will be on a UK wide basis with a lot of travel

The Person
- A proactive & proven sales professional
- Proven track record in successfully developing new business within this channel
- Ideally well connected with relevant key accounts across Garden Centres, Food halls, Farm Shops etc
- A successful track record developing new business with relevant independent retail accounts ie garden centres, farm shops, delicatessens etc will also be considered
- Must come from either the food or drinks sector
- We may also consider an outstanding sales professional from the foodservice sector although experience opening & managing specialist retail accounts would be very much preferred
- A likeable, engaging, energetic, happy and positive personality is essential
- Enjoys working in a small, entrepreneurial food manufacturing business.
- Is comfortable wearing multiple hats and being hands-on.
- Wants to help grow a premium food brand rather than work in a large corporate environment.
- Comfortable with extensive travel and overnight stays. Ideally based in the Midlands but we will consider strong candidates regardless of living location.
