Are you an ambitious business development or technical sales professional with deep expertise in Substation Automation and Protection & Control (P&C) systems?

Our client, a leading global energy technology organisation, is seeking a Business Development Manager to spearhead their market growth across the UK. In this pivotal role, you will define and execute the go-to-market strategy, expanding the business’s footprint across DSOs, TSOs, EPCs, OEMs, system integrators, and major industrial clients.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the go-to-market strategy for grid automation solutions, building a robust sales pipeline aligned with UK energy sector trends.
  • Manage the end-to-end business development cycle—from opportunity identification and product approval to bid preparation, price positioning, contract negotiation, and closure.
  • Cultivate long-term relationships with key decision-makers across major utilities (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SP Energy Networks, Northern Powergrid), EPCs, and engineering consultancies.
  • Lead product approval processes with TSOs/DSOs and the ENA, while providing technical support during pre-sales presentations, workshops, and product demonstrations.
  • Collaborate with internal legal, back-office, and global engineering teams to review contracts, negotiate terms, and ensure smooth project handovers.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
