Business Development Manager - Lift Servicing

Location: Manchester
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 + Package

The Client

Bowdon Associates are recruiting on behalf of a well-established UK lift company known for its engineering quality and customer service. Due to continued growth, our client is looking for a driven Business Development Manager to win new maintenance and compliance business.

The Role of Business Development Manager - Lift Servicing

You will grow the company's service portfolio by generating your own leads, converting inbound enquiries and building long-term client relationships.

Key Responsibilities of Business Development Manager - Lift Servicing

  • Generate new business through networking, referrals, cold outreach, social selling and market research
  • Build relationships with facilities managers, property managers, managing agents, building owners and other key decision-makers
  • Manage and convert inbound enquiries for portfolios of up to nine lifts
  • Produce accurate quotations and professional service proposals, and negotiate maintenance contracts within agreed pricing parameters
  • Hold remote customer meetings via Microsoft Teams, with site visits where appropriate
  • Promote the company's in-house compliance services, including LOLER Thorough Examination inspections
  • Identify Blue Chip and strategic account opportunities and refer them to the Head of Service Sales
  • Keep an accurate CRM pipeline and sales forecast
  • Manage your own enquiries through the shared sales inbox, responding promptly and categorising them accurately
  • Work closely with the Operations, Engineering, Compliance and Finance teams

  • B2B sales experience, ideally in the lift or technical services sector
  • Strong lead generation, communication and negotiation skills
  • Excellent organisation, attention to detail and CRM proficiency
  • Knowledge of lift maintenance and LOLER regulations is desirable but not essential
  • Punctual and professionally presented
  • Ambitious and commercially driven, motivated by targets and earning potential
