Business Development Manager – SaaS Platform & Business Service Sales

Remote | UK | Up to £90,000 DOE + uncapped commission

Are you a hunter who loves opening doors, creating opportunities and closing new business? We're looking for an ambitious, commercially minded Business Development Manager to sell membership of a SaaS platform that helps businesses access commercial introductions, collaboration opportunities and proposal opportunities with relevant organisations and decision-makers.

This is a genuine new-business sales role. You'll be responsible for identifying prospects, creating your own opportunities, engaging senior stakeholders, demonstrating the commercial value of membership and, importantly, closing your own deals. You will then manage these relationships going forward.

We're looking for someone who enjoys the thrill of winning new business, is comfortable working to targets and can clearly demonstrate what they've achieved in previous sales roles.

The Role

You'll be selling a SaaS-based membership proposition designed to give businesses access to:

  • Commercial introductions to relevant organisations and decision-makers
  • New business and partnership opportunities
  • Proposal and tender opportunities
  • Peer-to-peer and collaborative commercial programmes
  • A platform designed to help members generate meaningful commercial conversations
  • Access to a network of businesses and potential customers

You'll manage the sales process from prospecting through to close, with a significant focus on new business both self-generated and from qualified leads from SDRs

Your day-to-day activity will include:

  • Identifying and researching new prospects
  • Building and managing your own pipeline
  • Engaging business owners, directors and senior commercial stakeholders
  • Running discovery conversations and understanding commercial challenges
  • Presenting and demonstrating the platform and membership proposition
  • Articulating clear ROI and commercial value
  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and pipeline forecasts
  • Consistently achieving activity, conversion and revenue targets

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What We're Looking For

We're particularly interested in proven new-business sellers who have worked in fast-paced, target-driven environments.

You don't necessarily need to have sold this exact product before. What's more important is that you've demonstrated the ability to prospect, create demand, sell value and close.

Strong backgrounds include:

  • B2B Events, Conferences & Media
  • B2B data, analytics and market intelligence
  • Subscription research and insight platforms
  • Conference and exhibition sponsorship
  • Exhibitor sales
  • Webinar and virtual event sponsorship
  • Lead-generation products
  • B2B trade and business media
  • Subscription and advertising sales
  • Digital marketing and data analytics SaaS

SaaS – particularly shorter sales cycles

We're interested in sellers from businesses where deals are typically closed within days or weeks rather than many months, including:

  • HR tech / recruitment tech – ATS, HRIS and payroll
  • Sales engagement and enablement
  • Martech / AdTech
  • Fintech, payments and invoice finance SaaS
  • SMB-focused cybersecurity
  • E-commerce enablement
  • Workflow and productivity SaaS

Recruitment Sales

Recruitment-to-recruitment sales can be an excellent background for this role, particularly where candidates have worked in highly commission-driven, high-activity environments such as:

  • IT / technology contract recruitment
  • Finance and accountancy recruitment
  • Temp and permanent recruitment
  • Engineering recruitment
  • Construction recruitment

Outbound Financial Services & Insurance

We're also interested in high-volume, target-driven sales professionals from areas such as:

  • SME / commercial insurance broking
  • Merchant services and payment processing
  • Invoice and asset finance
  • Workplace pensions
  • Employee benefits

Sales-Academy / Methodology-Led Businesses

We're particularly interested in people who have been trained in and actually use structured sales methodologies, whether that's MEDDIC, Challenger, Sandler or a similar framework. We're less interested in hearing "I consistently exceeded target" and much more interested in hearing exactly how you did it.

You've Delivered Consistently

We're looking for a stable sales career with evidence of sustained performance. You'll ideally have a track record of staying long enough in roles to demonstrate genuine results, rather than a history of frequent moves between employers.

You're Comfortable With Targets

You should enjoy working in an environment where activity, pipeline, conversion and revenue are measured. You won't need someone constantly looking over your shoulder — you'll be expected to manage your own activity, build your pipeline and take responsibility for your results.

You Can Sell to Senior People

You'll be speaking with business owners, directors and senior commercial decision-makers. You therefore need to have fluent, client-ready English, excellent communication skills and the confidence to hold a commercially credible conversation with senior stakeholders.

Remote Working

The role is remote, but previous remote-working experience isn't essential. If you've never worked from home before but have the right sales track record, discipline and self-management skills, we'd still like to meet you. We'll assess your ability to work effectively and independently as part of our own recruitment process.

Why Join?

This is an opportunity to join a growing commercial platform where your ability to create and close new business will have a direct impact on the company's growth. You'll have the opportunity to build something and keep the account base that you have won that will earn exponentially for you.

The opportunity to earn very good money and progress is genuine and very exciting. The business has grown to 350 employees over the last 4 years and wants to double again in the next 4.

If you are ambitious and excited by your own prospects along with ours please get in touch straight away!
