Role Overview
The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new and existing installer accounts in the UK. This role requires a proactive sales professional with strong knowledge of the solar PV industry, excellent relationship management skills, and the ability to deliver sustainable sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development
- Identify and acquire new installer customers through prospecting, networking, and market research.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with solar PV installers, EPCs, and partners.
- Present and promote product portfolio (modules, inverters, batteries, mounting systems, accessories).
- Achieve and exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts within company guidelines.

Account Management
- Act as the main point of contact for assigned installer accounts.
- Understand installer needs and provide tailored solutions to support their business growth.
- Collaborate with logistics and operations teams to ensure seamless order fulfilment.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and resolve issues promptly.
Market Development & Strategy
- Analyse market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify opportunities.
- Provide input into sales strategies, pricing models, and promotional campaigns.
- Represent Failte Solar UK at industry events, exhibitions, and networking functions.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials, case studies, and sales tools.
Reporting & Collaboration
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reports in CRM.
- Work closely with Key Sales Managers, CRO, and wider UK/IE team to align on growth objectives.
- Share market insights and customer feedback with management to shape product offerings.

Key Requirements
- Proven experience in B2B sales and business development, ideally within solar PV, renewables, or electrical distribution.
- Strong understanding of the UK solar installer market and supply chain.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills.
- Willingness to travel across the UK for customer meetings and industry events.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and MS Office suite.
