Established in 2000, we became the first publicly quoted advisor following a successful AIM debut in 2011. We are now the UK’s number one destination for businesses seeking expert insight and advisory services to help them manage their energy costs, reduce their carbon emissions and prove their net zero carbon and ESG strategies to their investors and customers
We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our successful Sales team. This role is home based with occasional travel to offices required.
Role and Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager will play a key role in driving profitable new business growth by identifying, developing, and securing new clients for Inspired Energy's Assurance division. Working collaboratively with specialist sales teams, the role will also identify opportunities across the Optimisation and ESG divisions, delivering integrated, value-led solutions that support clients’ wider commercial, operational and sustainability objectives.
The role is focused on acquiring new customers through proactive business development, strategic account targeting and solution-based selling. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
