Business Development Manager

Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire

Competitive Salary + Car Allowance + Bonus
40 hours per week, Monday to Friday

Do you enjoy finding new customers, starting commercial conversations and turning promising leads into long-term business?
We’re recruiting a Business Development Manager to grow our customer base across the foodservice market. This is a hands-on new business role for someone who is confident researching prospects, making first contact and securing meetings with potential customers.

You’ll manage your own sales activity from initial approach to account launch, supported by experienced colleagues and rewarded for delivering profitable new business.

What You’ll Be Doing

Your focus will be winning new customers within an agreed territory and target market. You’ll plan prospecting activity, arrange and attend customer meetings, develop suitable proposals and maintain momentum through to conversion. Once a new account is trading successfully, you’ll complete a structured handover to our Channel Account Management team.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Creating prospect lists and identifying decision-makers in target foodservice businesses.
  • Generating leads through telephone, email, networking, referrals and field-based activity.
  • Booking and attending discovery meetings to understand each prospect’s requirements.
  • Working with internal teams to prepare pricing, proposals and product solutions.
  • Following up consistently and progressing opportunities through the sales pipeline.
  • Delivering agreed activity, conversion and new-business targets.
  • Coordinating new-account set-up and completing a clear handover once the customer is established.
  • Recording customer activity, next steps and forecasts accurately in the CRM system.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
