About This Role
Are you a Business Development Manager, Sales Manager, or commercially focused account professional looking for an opportunity to help shape a new Energy Solutions business? As our Business Development Manager, you’ll work closely with the Head of Sales to develop new and existing customers, refine our product portfolio, and build a strong platform for future growth.
- Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
- Develop and maintain a strong customer pipeline and win rate while delivering allocated sales targets.
- Identify new ideas, opportunities, trends, and competitive activity to keep our offering relevant.
- Support the creation of the Business Plan, growth strategy, and marketing plan.
- Lead commercial negotiations and promote Power Solutions products across the wider Dawsongroup customer base.
About You
You’ll be commercially minded, confident in building relationships, and comfortable working autonomously in a role where your contribution can directly influence the development of a new Business Unit. Experience in Temporary Power Generation or HVAC would be advantageous, as would experience within an asset-based rental business, but neither is essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
