Business Development Manager
Location: London

Reporting to: National Sales Manager
The Opportunity
A leading organisation within the ventilation and HVAC sector is looking to appoint a Business Development Manager to drive new business growth, develop strategic customer relationships, and expand its presence across the commercial and industrial markets.
This is a commercially focused role for someone with experience selling ventilation or HVAC. You will be responsible for identifying new opportunities, developing relationships with contractors, consultants, and end users, and converting opportunities into profitable business.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a direct impact on business growth while working closely with engineering, marketing, customer service, and senior leadership teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and develop new business opportunities across the commercial and industrial sectors.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, contractors, consultants, and key industry stakeholders.
- Develop a healthy pipeline of new opportunities and manage prospects through the full sales process.
- Generate new leads through market research, networking, customer engagement, and targeted business development.
- Identify untapped markets and opportunities to increase market share.
- Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with wider company objectives.
- Deliver agreed sales and revenue targets.
- Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and commercial terms, and successfully close opportunities.
- Maintain a strong understanding of ventilation products, applications, technical specifications, regulations, and industry trends.
- Work closely with engineering teams to provide customers with appropriate technical and application support.
- Monitor competitor activity and market developments to identify new opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records within the CRM system.
- Provide regular reporting on pipeline activity, forecasts, market trends, and business development performance.
- Gather customer feedback and identify opportunities to improve products, services, and the overall customer experience.
- Work collaboratively with marketing, engineering, customer service, and senior leadership to maximise commercial opportunities.

About You
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Proven experience in business development or sales within ventilation or HVAC.
- A strong understanding of commercial and industrial markets.
- Demonstrable experience generating new business and developing customer relationships.
- Experience working with contractors, consultants, end users, and other key industry stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Technical understanding of ventilation systems and energy-efficient solutions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to identifying and pursuing new opportunities.
- Strong problem-solving and organisational skills.
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office.

A degree or professional qualification in engineering, business, HVAC, or a related discipline would be advantageous but is not essential where relevant industry experience is demonstrated.
